KARE is a population-based cohort designed to investigate chronic diseases among elderly people in Kunshan City, China. In 2019, the study began recruiting, and as of 2025, nearly 136,000 participants aged ≥60 years old had been recruited through inviting those attending annual health check-ups. Participants are all followed up annually, with those with established common chronic diseases followed up quarterly. As well as retrospectively analysing electronic healthcare and medical records from 2014 onwards.
