Sample details

The KCPS is a prospective cohort study with a follow-up of 20 years. The cohort is composed of government employees, teachers, and their dependents who were insured by the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) in South Korea from 1992 through 1999. Participants included individuals aged 20 to 95 years, who had at least one medical examination, and completed a questionnaire during that time. The KCPS originally included over 1.3 million Korean men and women who participated in a NHIS medical evaluation with biennial follow-up evaluations.
