KCS is a population-based prospective cohort study involving 4,997 urban residents from Kavar County in Fars Province, Iran, aimed at investigating non-communicable diseases. Participants were recruited between October 2017 and March 2019 using a census method from local health databases, supplemented by phone calls and community outreach events such as Friday prayers and city meetings. The cohort consists of adults aged 35 to 70 years at baseline and are followed up annually via telephone, with comprehensive in-person assessments planned at 5 and 10 years after initial recruitment.
