The KeKeKe study aimed to investigate the outcomes of infants born before 28 weeks of gestation, referred to as extremely preterm (EPT). Between 2006 and 2008, the study recruited EPT infants from the neonatal intensive care unit of Helsinki University Hospital in Helsinki, Finland, shortly after birth. 85 EPT infants were recruited into the study. Participants were followed up when they reached term age or the date when they would have been at 40 weeks of gestation, at 2 years of corrected age and at 6 years of corrected age.
