The KHPS 2 began in 2019 following the reorganisation of the Korea Health Panel Survey. To maintain representativeness in the panel, the study uses 90% of the 2016 Population and Housing Census data as its sampling frame. The initial wave of KHPS 2 included approximately 8,500 households across South Korea and their family members residing together, resulting in over 21,000 participants.
