Sample details

The KIFS study is a prospective cohort study that aimed to report the prevalence and factors associated with breastfeeding in women in Kuwait. A cohort of 373 women aged 17 to 49 years was recruited from 2007 to 2008 via maternity wards, being asked to participate within 72 hours of delivery. Mothers who agreed were interviewed face-to-face at baseline before being discharged from the hospital, and followed up with telephone interviews at 6, 12, 18, and 26 weeks post-partum. The study ended in 2008.
