Kimpese HDSS is designed to collect demographic, economic, health, and social data on individuals, households, and compounds in the Health Zone of Kimpese (HZK) in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The HDSS includes all inhabitants of the HSK in West DRC. At baseline, over 58,000 participants from over 14,000 households were included in the study. Participants are followed up every four months. Several sub-studies are conducted within the Kimpese HDSS.
