The KiVMS is a continuous study following a cohort of over 33,000 children aged under 5 years living in Kilifi County, Kenya. Additionally, all childhood immigrants are recruited during re-enumeration rounds. The study area is covered by the Kilifi Health and Demographic Surveillance System, which provides basic demographic data on participants for KiVMS. The demographic data has been linked to an electronic vaccine monitoring system and electronic health records.
