KLIPS is a longitudinal survey of the labour market and income activities of households and individuals residing in urban areas in South Korea. The study used the South Korean 1995 mid-term census as its sampling frame and recruited an equal probability sample from 7 metropolitan cities and urban areas in 8 provinces. Individual participants were at least 15 years of age in order to participate in the survey. This resulted in 13,139 participants from 5000 households at baseline. To combat attrition rates and maintain national representativeness, additional sampling was carried out in 2009 and 2018. As of 2022, KLIPS includes over 23,000 individuals from 11,670 households.
