Kombewa HDSS monitors the health and demographic changes of a cohort in Kisumu County, Western Kenya. Since its inception, the HDSS has continued to enrol new participants to maintain a dynamic cohort, reaching over 140,000 participants from 34,000 households in 2014, reflecting population changes over time. Follow-up is conducted biannually through household surveys to collect updated data on residency, household relationships, births, deaths, migrations, and causes of morbidity and mortality.
