Sample details

KuBiCo is a Finnish birth cohort study aimed at examining the effects of genetics and pregnancy-related stress factors on the health of the mother and her child. All pregnant women who were expected to give birth at Kuopio University Hospital (KUH) in the Finnish county of Northern Savo were invited to participate in KuBiCo. The majority of the participants (more than 90%) were recruited during the routine first trimester visit (gestational week 6–9) at the prenatal clinics. Over 3,500 participants answered KuBiCo questionnaires from June 2012 to April 2016. The women answered questionnaires during their pregnancy and again when their child was 12 months old, 24 months old, and 36 months old.
