Sample details

The Kurihara Project was a community-based study aimed at preventing stroke, dementia, and bed-confinement among individuals aged 75 years or older in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Nineteen communities out of 255 were selected to participate in the project, targeting a population of 1,254 individuals, 47% of which responded. The project involved conducting CDR (clinical dementia rating) assessments, neuropsychological tests, blood and urine tests, and MRI scans on the selected populations.
