This study investigated the behavioural, neuroimaging, and clinical predictors of relapse in treatment-seeking alcohol-dependent patients. The sample consisted of 114 recently detoxified alcohol-dependent patients (16% female) and 98 matched control participants (17% female) who were recruited from two sites in Germany; Berlin and Dresden. Patients had a diagnosis of alcohol dependence for a minimum of 3 years and had gone through detoxification procedures on average 4 times. After baseline assessment, patients were followed up every 2 weeks for 3 months, then again at 24, 36, and 48 weeks.
