Sample details

The Lifeways study started in 2000 and the first families were recruited in 2001. Follow-up rounds of data collection are performed at key developmental points: during pregnancy, and when the child is aged 0, aged 3/year 4, aged 5/year 6, aged 9/year 10, and with a year 2020 to 2021 follow-up. At the beginning, over a thousand mothers at antenatal clinics in the Coombe University Hospital Dublin and in University College Hospital Galway in the Republic of Ireland agreed to take part.
