Sample details

The "Longitudinal Changes in Posttraumatic Stress Disorder After Resettlement Among Yazidi Female Refugees Exposed to Violence" study is a prospective cohort study that took place in 14 German cities in the context of a humanitarian admission program that resettled 1,000 vulnerable women and children from northern Iraq to Germany. At baseline, a total of 116 women participated, with a mean age of 32.2 years; of which 115 (99.1%) were of Yazidi faith, and one (0.9%) of Christian faith. A total of 96 (82.8%) of these women participated in the follow-up assessment. The baseline assessment was conducted 2 years after resettlement (September 1, 2017, to January 12, 2018), followed by a 1-year follow-up (August 29, 2018, to January 15, 2019). All 116 study participants had experienced the 2014 Islamic State attacks in northern Iraq.
