LRGS TUA is a prospective study on aging focusing on neuroprotective factors among a population-based sample of Malaysian elderly. The sample is derived from four states in Malaysia that have the highest numbers of older adults aged 60 years and older, namely Johor, Perak, Selangor, and Kelantan. The baseline study was conducted from May 2012 to February 2013, and was followed by 18- and 36-month follow-ups. The sample is comprised of individuals aged 60 years and older, with no documented major psychiatric illness or mental disorders. Just over 2,300 respondents were recruited for the baseline data analysis.
