The LSDC aimed to examine the health characteristics of a cohort of Danish Centenarians. The study recruited 207 Danish individuals born in 1895 and 1896, who reached the age of 100 between 1995 and 1996. Participants were first assessed within three months of their 100th birthday and followed up every one to two years until they were aged 107 years.
