MAAS is a longitudinal study investigating cognitive aging in a cohort of nearly 1,900 initially healthy participants aged 24-81 years at baseline. The sample was drawn from a patient register for 15 general practices in the province of Limburg, the Netherlands. Since 1992, the participants have been followed-up at fixed intervals over a period of 12 years with respect to their health and neurocognitive status. As of 2023, 719 participants were included in the 25 year follow-up.
