Sample details

The Masculinities, Identities and Risk project is one of the Timescapes qualitative longitudinal studies. The project builds on, and extends, a previous ESRC-funded project called "Men as Fathers." The project followed 30 first-time fathers from East Anglia (the 'heritage sample') over 3 phases of qualitative interviews between 1999-2001. In 2008-2009, "Men as Fathers" was extended with a fourth wave of follow-up interviews in 19 participants, and the sample was boosted with a further 16 first-time fathers from South Wales.
