The Million Women Study is a population-based cohort study of over 1.3 million women born between 1935 and 1950 across England and Scotland. Participants were recruited between 1996 and 2001, when a recruitment questionnaire was included with an NHS letter invitation for women aged 50 to 64 to attend a routine mammography screening as part of the NHS Breast Screening Programme.
