The Mills Longitudinal Study is a 50-year investigation into adult development, following a cohort of 142 women who graduated from Mills College in Oakland, California. Participants were recruited from the senior classes of 1958 and 1960, and the cohort predominantly consists of white, middle-class women. Follow-ups have been conducted approximately every decade, with assessments in 1967, 1980-81, 1989-90, 1997-98, and the latest sixth follow-up occurring in 2007-08.
