MLSFH-ACE investigates the impact of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) on child development in rural low-income contexts. The study recruited participants aged 10 to 16 years and their primary caregivers from the existing Malawi Longitudinal Study of Families and Health (MLSFH) study sites in Rumphi, Mchinji, and Balaka districts in Malawi. At baseline data collection in 2017, over 2,000 participants and over 900 caregivers were enrolled in the study. During the second data collection sweep in 2021, 208 children of the participants were included in the study.
