Minimal Psychiatric Data is an obligatory administrative registry, and represents certain minimum psychiatric statistical data that must be communicated to the Minister of Public Health in Belgium. Data is recorded for all patients attending psychiatric hospitals or psychiatric services within general hospitals in Belgium since 1996. Data is collected continuously; from the start of the psychiatric admission, to the end of treatment. The data recorded includes diagnosis on admission, patient socio-demographic data, the type of admission and discharge of services, diagnosis and residual problems upon discharge.
