The Mutaba’ah (Arabic for “follow-up”) Study is a prospective cohort study in the United Arab Emirates conducted in Al Ain City to investigate maternal and child health. Pregnant women from the Emirati population, aged ⩾18 years, living in Al Ain, and capable of providing informed consent were eligible to be recruited. There were 10,565 women recruited during the period of May 2017 to July 2021.
