Mutual Influence of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Symptoms and Chronic Pain Among Injured Accident Survivors: A Longitudinal Study

This longitudinal study followed for 12 months over 320 survivors of injury accidents admitted to the trauma ward of University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland. The patients were assessed 5 days, 6 months and 12 months post-accident. Of the 323 patients initially assessed (65% men), 255 (79%) participated at the 6-month follow-up and 253 (78%) returned the self-rating questionnaires by mail at the 12-month follow-up.
