Sample details

The N2 project aimed to identify behavioral, social, genetic, and other biological factors correlated with hepatitis C transmission and progression to chronic hepatitis C. Participants were a social network of approximately 350 young people who inject drugs (PWID), recruited from street illicit drug markets in Melbourne, Australia. Upon recruitment, between 2005 and 2007, these participants completed a questionnaire and provided blood samples. Follow-ups, using the same methods, were conducted approximately every 3 months. The last interviews were conducted in February 2010.
