Sample details

The Nanoro HDSS aims to provide a core framework for clinical trials and also to support the Burkina Faso health authorities in generating epidemiological data that can contribute to the setup and assessment of health interventions. Participants of all ages were recruited from households in Nabaro, a rural area in Burkina Faso. Initial data collection began in 2009 and participants have been followed up every four months, with around 50,000 to 60,000 participants per wave.
