NEMESIS is a prospective study of psychiatric disorders in a representative sample of non-institutionalized Dutch adults. The first NEMESIS study started in 1996 and consisted of three measurements. A total of 7,146 individuals aged 18–64 were recruited through a multistage sample of municipalities and households in the Netherlands, and interviewed at home in 1996. Follow-up measurements in the same sample were conducted in 1997 and 1999.
