Sample details

NEON-PC is a prospective cohort study of 566 male participants recruited from 2018 to 2021 from Northern Portugal, specifically at the Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto Francisco Gentil and Centro Hospitalar de São João. The study aims to investigate the impact of prostate cancer treatments - particularly androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) - on cognitive decline and related neuropsychological outcomes. Participants were recruited at diagnosis, before initiating any cancer treatment, through clinical settings. Follow-up assessments are conducted at 6 and 12 months post-baseline, with plans for continued monitoring over a 10-year period.
