NESARC is a series of two surveys on over 43,000 participants. The first survey was administered in 2001-2002, and a follow-up three years later. The surveys aimed to represent the United States of America civilian population aged 18 and above, oversampling ethnic minorities and young adults. Participants were interviewed face-to-face, and asked to complete various diagnostic measures.
