The NFLC study is a large linkage database of individuals in Norway. The cohort includes Norwegians who participated in the national census in 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, or 2001, with a personal identity number. The linkage includes data from these censuses and register information from the National Personal Registry, the Educational Registry, and the Cause of Death Registry. Using household and family information from the 1960 census, the majority of individuals have been linked to the records of their parents.
