Sample details

The NGWS is a study of newly hired male grain industry workers from Saskatchewan, Canada, conducted to investigate the early effects of occupational grain dust exposure on respiratory health. Participants were recruited between 1980 and 1985 through pre-employment screening at the Royal University Hospital, University of Saskatchewan, Canada. The cohort consists of almost 300 adult male workers entering grain industry roles for the first time. Follow-up assessments, including respiratory symptom questionnaires and pulmonary function testing, were conducted at baseline and at regular intervals during the employment period.
