The NHS 3 is the third in a series of large prospective cohort studies aimed to investigate the risk factors for major chronic diseases. The NHS 3 cohort inclusion criteria expanded from NHS and NHS II which comprised only women. The sample includes Licensed Practical Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Registered Nurses aged 19-46, from diverse ethnic backgrounds and both genders, including those in Canada. There is still a focus on women's health but also on other public health and health-related topics.
