NIPPON DATA80 aims to understand the trends and impacts of non-communicable diseases in the aged population by examining various health factors. Beginning in 1980, the study includes over 10,000 individuals, of whom over 4,500 are male participants and approximately 6,000 are female participants, aged 30 years and older at baseline. The participants have been followed up repeatedly since baseline, with follow-ups conducted at 14, 19, 25 and 29 years, and the last follow-up being in 2009.
