Sample details

NLCS investigates the relationship between diet, lifestyle, and the risk of various cancers. In 1986, participants aged 55 to 69 years were recruited from across 204 municipalities in the Netherlands. Over 120,000 participants completed the baseline questionnaire. Participants are followed up via cancer registries. A sub-cohort of 5,000 participants has also been followed up biannually.
