NLSW is a longitudinal survey of two cohorts: a cohort of over 5,000 Mature Women and a cohort of over 5,150 Young Women. The Mature Women's cohort includes women who were aged 30-44 when first interviewed in 1967, while the Young Women's cohort includes women who were aged 14-24 when first interviewed in 1968. The two cohorts were followed every 1-3 years until 2003, totaling over 20 rounds of surveys each.
