The NNRD collects data about the care of babies admitted to NHS neonatal units and is maintained by the Neonatal Data Analysis Unit (NDAU), based at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Campus of Imperial College London. It is a national resource that holds clinical data captured during care for all admissions to NHS neonatal units in England, Wales, Scotland, and the Isle of Man. At present, information on over one million babies has been collected since the beginning of the project in 2007. Baseline data are collected from infants at birth, and their development is followed up at 2 years old.
