The study was conducted in Nova Scotia, Canada, to analyze the health indicators and preventive practices of individuals aged 18 and above, excluding pregnant women, using a sample representative of the population's age, gender, and location. This prospective study included over 1,700 participants (862 men and 877 women) with no known coronary heart disease at baseline and who completed the survey, clinic exam, and structured interview.
