The NPR is an administrative database of records reported by all government-owned hospitals and outpatient clinics receiving governmental reimbursements in Norway. It contains health information about all persons who have received treatment, or who are waiting for treatment in the specialist health service. The NPR includes each patient’s unique personal identification number, enabling access to person-specific data and linkage with other datasets.
