Sample details

The NSCAW II study follows a cohort of around 5,000 children aged between 0-17.5 years, who were in contact with the child welfare system within a specific 15-month period starting in February 2008. The study was designed to follow the framework of NSCAW I, which was the first study on child welfare to collect data from children and families. The NSCAW II cohort is composed of children from Child Protective Services, sampled from closed investigations during the designated period and selected from 81 counties in the United States.
