Sample details

The NSW-CDS cohort was established with over 87,000 children who were assessed with the Australian Early Development Census (AEDC) when they started school in 2009, aged 5-6 years. The AEDC records were then linked to medical records, education records, and other administrative data in 2013. In 2016, almost 30,000 more children aged 11-12 years, were linked through the Middle Childhood Survey (MCS), bringing the total child cohort to over 91,500 children. 48% of the cohort are female and 82% of the child cohort have linked parental data.
