Sample details

The NTR is a research resource that was compiled in 2009 by merging several twin cohorts that were established for research into physical and mental health, wellbeing, and development. As of 2024, the register contains information from around 40,000 twin individuals born between 1915 and 2001. The 1915–1960 cohorts were recruited in the 1980s and followed up over a ten-year period. The twins who were born in the period of 1967–1979 were recruited in the 1990s, and most of the youngest cohorts were recruited in 2014 and 2021.
