NW-SCORE is part of the Breast Cancer Surveillance Consortium (BCSC), along with nine other active sites, all working together to advance breast cancer research. NW-SCORE aims to improve the population screening outcomes of cancer patients by linking screening data to long-term cancer outcomes and creating a resource for big data research that will influence regional and national screening policies in the United States of America. The study collects exam-level information on women undergoing routine breast examinations from clinics and hospitals in Washington state, United States of America, and links it to state cancer registries. Participants are followed up each time they get a breast scan and continuously through routinely collected data and registries.
