Sample details

The OaK Birth Cohort followed over 7,800 mothers and over 7,800 of their new-born infants until delivery across Ontario province, Canada. Women who were receiving prenatal care from a physician or midwife were recruited from The Ottawa Hospital and Kingston General Hospital between October 2002 and April 2009, during antenatal visits in the early second trimester (12 - 20 weeks gestation). Epidemiologic information and biological specimens were collected, with the latter bio banked for future research.
