The PANDORA Study is a prospective, observational pregnancy and birth cohort with a focus on the metabolic health of Indigenous Australians. Recruitment commenced in 2012 and was completed in February 2017. Participants included women with any type of diabetes in pregnancy, as well as women without diabetes in pregnancy and their children. Cohort participants include 1,140 women and 1,170 children from the Northern Territory, Australia. Approximately 50% of PANDORA women are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander women. Follow-up has included collecting data on maternal and child health, breastfeeding, diet, growth, and development at 18 months to 5 years of age.
