The PCRR was established in 1969, which has records of all psychiatric admissions in Denmark from 1938. Records from the Faroe Islands and Greenland are recorded from 1973 and 1979 respectively. From the start of 1995, all information on psychiatric outpatients are also recorded. As of February 2010, almost 750,000 patients were registered on the PCRR with almost 1,100,000 admissions. Of these, 54% were female.
