Sample details

The PIAAC aims to assess the basic skills of the adult population (aged 16 to 65 years) and involves cross-sectional surveys conducted at regular intervals. The first round of PIAAC was conducted in 2012 in 24 countries, including Germany. PIAAC-L was initiated in Germany to investigate the longitudinal effects of skill outcomes over the life course and the development of the key skills assessed in PIAAC, re-assessing over 5,200 participants of the PIAAC 2012 survey with three additional follow-up waves (2014, 2015, and 2016).
