The Piccolipiù cohort comprises 3,328 newborns from five Italian cities enrolled between October 2011 and March 2015, with recruitment and sample collection occurring in six birth centres across the cities. Parents are required to complete health and development questionnaires when their child reaches 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 4 years, and beyond, provided they are at least eighteen years old, reside within the maternity centres' catchment areas, and possess proficiency in the Italian language.
