PICNICS is an observational study tracking the progression of patients with Parkinson’s disease over time to understand the course and outcome of the disease and establish the pattern of evolution of subtypes. The study recruited 290 patients with Parkinson’s disease between 2008 and 2013, and is following them up every 18 months with clinical assessments, cognitive assessments, and biological sampling. At baseline, participants had new onset Parkinson's disease meeting UKPDS Brain Bank Criteria, no dementia diagnosis, and were residents in Cambridgeshire, England (United Kingdom).
