Sample details

PIPAH aims to monitor the exposure and health of workers in the United Kingdom who use pesticides as a part of their job and to better understand the relationship between long-term exposure to pesticides and health. Participants were recruited from registries of agricultural workers who work with pesticides and a sub-sample of the Pesticide Users Health Survey. Baseline assessment began in 2013, and recruitment has continued until the present. However, most of the almost 6,000 participants were recruited from 2013 to 2014. Participants complete a pesticide use questionnaire annually and a general health questionnaire every five years.
